Sergei Eisenstein in the Proletkult

Abstract This article examines some of the theoretical issues that exercised Sergei Eisenstein during years 1920–1924 when he worked in Russian Proletarian Cultural-Educational Organization (Proletkult), which Aleksandr Bogdanov was one founders. We ask how far influenced by Marxism general and ideas particular, explain his exit from Proletkult terms unacceptability theory practice theatre film to Chairman Proletkult, Valeriyan Pletnëv.
